The silkscreen method allows absolute precision, or total freedom.
Using the “open screen” method, the artist paints (with inks) directly onto the screen. The squeegee them forces the ink through the open aperture(s) of the screen and the inks are transferred to paper, to create a unique image – a monoprint.
Some of the results are shown here. Everything is unique, unrepeatable.
A messy process, but the prints come out clean as a whistle.
